Socially and Ecologically Responsible Design based on Victor Papanek Principles | CIBART, India

In 2012, Mick Beliaev was invited to India by an intergovernmental organization to develop Victor Papanek–style social design projects. UMBOO was created for hot, low-resource regions in India and Africa, offering shade during scorching sun and rainy seasons. Each hexagonal bamboo module can be combined to form flexible, open-air rural schools or shelters using any locally available canopy materials.
